I remember watching the series back in a day and being blown away by the choreography. Imagine my surprise when i saw this on my nostalgia trip!

I'm glad the core appeal is still there, but i also dig the new angle with switching perspectives. Looked like an interesting concept, although i can see the issues that could appear with this.

Either way i'll definitely keep tabs on the reboot, looks promising. Wish you luck with the project!

I really like how you managed to make it look like a claymation. The soft lighting especially helps with that feel (besides other things, of course). Hell, that was my first impression before i checked the tags. Great job!
I also love the little details and subtle movements and how overall thing looks like an old first person rpg.
I guess my only nitpick would be the map not moving when the player presses the buttons. But besides that i don't really see anything that i can really critique as a person who lacks expertise.

You managed to recreate not only the looks but also the feel of the Awesome series. For a second there i thought it was a legit missing episode or something like that.

Fantastic job!

Nah, nah, it's obviously PsychicPebbles!

Jokes aside, good animation. I understand how irritating sometimes it can be for the artists to sum up their work as just a reference to something.

Either way, simplified design of the characters mixes well with their exaggerated expressions, although it felt a bit off when their mouth stopped moving at certain points. But i guess it's just a style thing, so it didn't bother me much.

Good luck with your next projects!

Great work! You've improved a lot since the first episode and it's showing. The humor, the pacing and the VA are superb! I love the expressions and the banter between the characters, they were a selling point for me back at ep.1
Hope we'll see another episode someday, i'll definitely wait for it!

IMO a subtle motion from Godzilla after getting hit would make the impact stronger and show us that this big ol' lizzard is hella heavy. No need to make extra frames, tweening would be enough. Also a split frame of Shaq is too static. Your effects are cool and i'd say it would be great to have them in that frame (like his eyes glowing for example or a simple panning).
But i'm nitpicking. Your piece looks great and i hope to see finished collab someday!

This is super helpful, thanks bro 🤟

Good stuff, glad you decided to share!
My only complaint would be is that the moment where the doctors are surrounded by mosquitos is just a static image + camera shakes, which really stood out, considering that you animated so many little details throughout the animation. But to be honest it's a really minor issue, of which you are most likely aware.
Overall, it's well animated and has a good humor, achieved without a single line of dialogue. Impressive! The switches between camera angles is pretty organic and doesn't ruin the flow, which is a big plus. Really like how you managed to mix simple (for animated characters) and detailed (for static pieces) artstyles, very appealing and reminiscent of old cartoon shows!

Mental-Autopsy responds:

Hey thanks!
And yeah the still frames were sort of an experiment (I was seeing how little I had to animate because I was behind on time, some stuff worked, some stuff didn't)

Outstanding work!

One of the greatest animations i've ever seen! Just like your previous work "The Reward", this one had it all - unique feel, sense of adventure, great plot, "evolving" characters, fantastic artwork and fitting soundtrack!
Once again, you guys created a masterpiece!
Yes, it's not perfect. Yes, it may be rough on the edges. BUT you managed to deliver to the viewer what you wanted.
I wish i could express what i feel more.

I hope your Kickstarter will be a success and we will see more from you!
Best of luck!

Even though we had to wait for so long, it's was worth the wait. Love the references and custom thingies (such as "rat stealing ether" art or Gaspar going super) were a nice addition to the episode.
Great work! Hope you'll keep on rolling and getting better (and bigger)!

The only complain i have is the audio quality - some sounds were really sharp and that was a little painful for headphone user. But i'm just nitpicking. I guess this depends on person's ears and speakers/headphones.

Clovis15 responds:

I am glad that you enjoyed the episode.

Pity that it was all of those very same custom thingies - as you put it - that really held up this episode so much, well beyond all reasonable amounts of lateness. There is a balance between being awesome, and being vaguely on time. I think we ended up adding so many nice things time around that the lateness defeated the awesomeness, and it ended up being neither awesome nor on time as a result.

As for the sound issues, I apologize. I will try to see if there's something that can be done about this going forward.

NOTE: I greatly appreciate most of the people whom worked with me on this episode, and would work with nearly all of them again (just not necessarily all at once, unless a hell of a lot more lead time could be worked in). There is - as things currently stand - only one person that I truly don't plan to work with anymore, but I refuse to call that person out in public.

This is quite long and well made animation! It was spot on - my favorite YouTubers and my favorite games. You did great work on cutting out voices (but volume should be fixed) and making interesting (and sometimes funny) fight scenes.
I definatelly going to wait for next part!

HadenDA responds:

Thank you for the review, However, I'm afraid there won't be a part 2.

I am a different person now. We always are.
